After years of waiting, one of Valorant’s first Duelists, Phoenix, is finally getting a buff. While other agents like Jett and Neon have become popular choices in matches as the game has evolved, Phoenix has received less attention. That will all change with Valorant Patch 9.10. Here’s everything you need to know about the new changes coming to Phoenix.
New Phoenix Changes
In Patch 9.10 there will be significant changes to Phoenix’s abilities, most of which will focus on his Curveball Flash and Blaze Wall.
- Wall of Fire
- With the new patch, Blaze Wall will be able to penetrate or pass through walls, just like Harbor’s High Tide. This will be a welcome change as the Blaze Wall Phoenix usually ends after coming into contact with a wall or surface, but now it can penetrate walls up to 21 meters long. Blaze Wall will still heal Phoenix and deal damage to any player who passes through the wall.
- Curved Ball Flash
- Phoenix’s Curveball Flash will now be its signature ability, gaining two charges with an additional recharge for every two kills. Previously, Phoenix was the only duelist on the roster who didn’t have a refill when he got a kill.
This change aims to make Phoenix equal to other duelists such as Jett, Reyna, and Raze. With changes to his Curveball Flashes, getting serial kills will be much easier and will help increase the win rate in 1v1 encounters. Meanwhile, its new Blaze Wall will make it easier for players to make room to enter locations and contribute to team goals.
Phoenix Changes Release Date
These new changes will arrive alongside Patch 9.10 on November 19, 2024. Since the current patch is 9.07, expect the game to roll out these changes gradually over the coming weeks leading up to the big update in Patch 9.10.
